A big thank you to Red Balloon!

Milton Parish Council and Red Balloon working together for the community.

Published: 23 June 2025

Milton Parish Council are very keen to work with groups and organisations in the village who bring something to the community.

One of these organisations is Red Balloon who offer their students a range of activities outside of academic study and one of those is the opportunity to take part in the Duke of Edinburgh (D of E) award scheme. Young people who join D of E undertake to practice a physical activity, learn a new skill and undertake a period of voluntary work as well as go on a residential trip.

A spokesperson for Red Balloon says “Since moving to Milton in September we have been keen to integrate into our local community and two of our students, with a member of our staff team, are supporting this by litter picking around Milton once a week for three months to complete the volunteering section of the D of E award. This has been made possible with the help of Milton Parish Council who have provided the equipment, guidance and support for the students to do this”.

Milton Parish Council are very grateful to Red Balloon for working with us in the community and are pleased that we helped them on their way to their deserved award. If you, your group or organisation think you can contribute to the community in any way please contact us.
