Information about Milton cemetery

The village Cemetery is on Landbeach Road just beyond the bypass. The original cemetery was created by All Saints’ Church in around 1900 when their churchyard started to run out of space.
In 1984 the Parish Council extended it to provide considerably more space and new interments now take place in this part of the Cemetery. Milton Parish Council are responsible for the upkeep of the whole Cemetery area.
Today the Cemetery is divided into separate areas. Two Lawn sections, a Traditional section and a place for ashes to be buried. Those who can be buried in the Cemetery must be residents of Milton or able to meet other criteria which are clearly set out in the Cemetery Regulations.
If you wish to discuss or arrange a burial in the Cemetery please contact the Parish Council Clerk on 01223 861447 or by email to clerk@miltonparishcouncil.gov.uk
See below for the Cemetery regulations and booking forms.
Conservation and maintenance
Milton Parish Council have an active program of maintenance for the Cemetery and regularly have the grass mown and have the trees and bushes cut back and kept under control. In 2023 we reached the necessary standard to gain the Cambridgeshire Churchyard Conservation Award, at bronze level. The judges were particularly impressed with how we had established a summer flower area and an uncut, wild area, plus the installation of the bird boxes and hedgehog homes.
A number of benches have been installed including a specially commissioned ‘arts’ bench.
Milton Parish Council continue to undertake a range of improvements with the aim to make the Cemetery a nicer place to visit and acting responsibly by working to conserve the area for wildlife.
