If you have ever ventured down Fen Road to the river you will have used the railway crossing but did you ever notice the bench by the crossing itself?
Well, you should notice it now. After years of neglect, Milton Parish Council has restored the bench to its former glory by having it painted in the traditional Great Eastern Railways livery.
The famous livery colors of black, blue, red with gold trim have been used to bring this piece of GER memorabilia back to life. Next time you are passing make sure you take a look.
This is all part of a longer term program to improve that area of Fen Road. Further work by Network Rail to improve the crossing is expected to happen in 2026.
